About UsBlackout PCa is a nonprofit organization that has a goal to raise awareness around prostate cancer in the Black communities by assisting patients and families in need. Hence the name of the organization BLACK OUT—the goal being to suppress, extinguish or redact prostate cancer in the Black community. This organization was founded in July 2023 by twin sisters Audra DeVaughn, CRNP and Asia Gray, health insurance professional/commercial enrollment expert, from Pittsburgh, PA. The organization was created in support of their father, James Bradshaw, who had been battling metastatic prostate cancer since 2021, but courageously, his fight came to an end in April 2024.

Who was James S. Bradshaw?
James meant so much to so many people! A son, a brother, a husband, a dad, a Gpaw, friend, and confidant. James loved life as he was a serviceman in the United States Army, an Elder in his church, The Church of God and Saints of Christ, and a driver for Paul Revere Transportation and Mt. Aarat Baptist Church Community Center. James loved his family, serving others, and making others feel special. He enjoyed traveling and he LOVED going on cruises! His wife nicknamed him “Mr. Cruiser”, as he set sail with his beloved wife, Adrienne, family, and friends. His Boston accent was one that would make you chuckle. It was heavy, especially when he said the words, “car and garage”( LOL). An additional bright spot about James was that he was the kind of guy who no matter the pressure, he always remained cool, calm, and collected. He was like the Commodores song,” Easy Like Sunday Morning.” If your path ever crossed his, you would never forget him.
This organization is lovingly dedicated to our father, James Bradshaw. His strength, integrity, compassion, and unwavering love for his family continue to inspire everything we do. His legacy lives on through service, generosity, and commitment to helping others.
